My co-workers are sweet.
We went out to lunch in a very small resterant. Eating cold ramen, on such a warm day was very summer-y.
The resteraunt seats maybe 8 people. One long counter.
Elvis Presly playing in the background was added to the nice summer feeling.
That night, My host family and I had a farewell dinner in a Shyba-Shyba resterant. Our waiter was so cute- the way he trembled. Every dish was a little bell in his hands. Then-whoops! He drops a bottle filled with drink between my host partents! And theres a little clammer as other people help to clean up and are appologizing.
And my host mother mumbles for him to calm down non-chelantly and my host sister (high school student?) is embarassed that she should say that out loud.
Only the adorable thing is, after everything is cleaned up and we're ready to continue, the next dish he serves is shaking.
WHAT AN INCREADABLY BRAVE MAN.
Now THAT is admirable. Of course it is better, that soon another person was serving us (really serving in a tuxedo looks very difficult-the jacket cumbersome). He made his point and anything more might seem a little cruel. I'm glad to have had such an experience.
He did show up one last time though, to bow at us as we left.
I am in awe of his honesty- being so openly nervous.
We did have a laugh too, as my host mother explained that when she was younger, she worked as a waitress part-time. One time she spilled a whole tray of beer on an elderly gentlemen! lol. The gentleman was very kind about the whole matter ^_^
There is something about being very young...that reminds me of my speech I made at Labo center. I talked to Shanti about it and...I still can't understand the fact that really almost everyone loved my speech (all Japanese attending members anyhow ^_~) And maybe it has something to do with that being youngness. Our waiter...didn't have a very good go with our group that night, but we all understood his nervousness. Maybe I had a smiliar display during the office meeting.
If I had anything, it was a whole lot of honesty and sincerity. I'm just a young staff after all...taking everything too seriously. *wink*
